Day 16: New [old] lens

Posted by on January 22, 2012

Albinar 80-200mm f/3.9

After a yummy lunch at Red Bowl Asian bistro (sushi anyone?), I returned to Granddaddy’s Antique mall. The day before, I had discovered a booth with old cameras, lenses, and accessories. Today, I am the happy owner of this old lens and a few filters. While the lack of comforts like metering and autofocus can make it a little more difficult to use the lens, I kind of enjoy having to figure it out manually. And for $30, how much can I really lose? I now have a telephoto lens!!!! Besides, I’ve always liked the idea that expensive equipment doesn’t make the photographer.

So, a picture of today’s spoils, and now back to toxicology homework! (I really wish I had more time to play around with the lens and filters today…)
