Day 5: Water droplets

Posted by on January 11, 2012

A water drop falling from above

Since it was rainy and dark today, I had to find something inside to work with. Following the theme of water, I set out to capture a photograph of water drops. The setup was a bit tricky, and I definitely didn’t get any good pictures at first, but all in all it was a pretty fun experiment. I punctured a hole in a plastic cup to let the water drip through, and the color was created by placing colored paper around the transparent dish.  I used three lamps to light the bowl so that I could keep the aperture smaller, and ended up settling on 1/200th second shutter speed with flash to take the pictures. This one was my favorite. But, see some of the others here.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is wonderful blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
